Should I Invest in a High-efficiency, Condensing Furnace?
High-efficiency furnaces achieve up to a staggering 89% to 98% AFUE (Annualized Fuel Utilization Efficiency). Because high-efficiency furnaces have sealed combustion areas, combustion draft inducers and secondary heat exchangers, they remove most of the heat from the exhaust gas and deliver a 25% to 35% fuel saving over an old 60% AFUE furnace.
If your existing furnace is bigger than it needs to be, a smaller, higher efficiency furnace will still be able to crank out the same amount of heat. Older furnaces were frequently oversized because fuel was so much cheaper. You can keep your home as comfortable in the winter for less when you install a new condensing furnace.

How Does a Condensing Furnace Work?
A condensing furnace works in a similar fashion to how a traditional furnace does. Gas burners deliver heat into the first heat exchanger and the combustion process leaves behind steam. That steam is sent to a secondary heat exchanger where it is condensed and turned into a liquid. When a gas turns into a liquid, it releases heat and your high efficiency furnace uses that extra heat to warm your home.

How Old is Your Furnace?
The average life expectancy of any furnace is between 16 and 20 years. If your furnace is close to this age or older, please give us a call. Older furnaces can also leave your home dry and dusty. The old furnaces do not clean or moisturize the air enough and can lead to allergies caused by dust, mold, pollen, viruses or animal dander. If you notice an increased buildup of dust, drooping plants or cracking furniture, your old furnace may not be capable of providing you with the comfort you and your family deserve.
